Why Mission Cultivate Exists
The problems are different. The tools are different. But the solution is the same: find the others.
“The government isn’t going to fix this for us - so we have to do it ourselves.”
The Defense Industrial Base is alive. It’s messy. It’s innovative. It’s patriotic. And it’s full of people who want to build something bigger than themselves. However, right now the ecosystem is fragmented. Small businesses struggle to find the right entry points, the right partners, and the right paths to navigate the government’s contracting labyrinth. Consultants and Advisors hustle on disconnected islands, chasing opportunities with no easy way to scale their impact. The other personas in the space: The VC’s, the Integrators, the Legacy players, (the Government themselves) and more, compound the confused, beautiful web we are weaving.
Mission Cultivate exists to fix that.
We’re not building another tool. We’re cultivating a community. It’s not just any community - this is the community that supports the maintenance of the balance of power on this planet we call Earth. While there is immense gravitas to a statement such as that, we also recognize that this community is just made up of humans. From the earliest days, progress has come not solely from individual genius-but from collective effort. Tribes, villages, and communities have always been the force multipliers behind every leap forward. Mission Cultivate exists because that hasn’t changed. The problems are different. The tools are different. But the solution is the same: find the others.
MC is a platform and a movement—one that connects the bold builders of the industrial base with the people, tools, and opportunities they need to thrive in the federal landscape. We believe in the value of relationships, in mutual accountability, and in helping good people do meaningful work that serves the country. We recognize that “It’s not Who You know, it’s How they know You.”
This isn’t about flashy headlines or hyped tech. It’s about rolling up our sleeves and creating the connective tissue of a modern industrial base. It’s about bridging the Valley of Death—not with hope, but with infrastructure. It's about decentralizing the gatekeepers and putting the power back in the hands of those who are actually doing the work.
Our vision? A thriving, connected arena where mission-aligned people build companies, win contracts, share knowledge, and scale impact across the government and beyond.
The results? Of course, a burgeoning industrial base spurs economic growth and opportunity for more people. However, make no mistake, this platform will facilitate the technology and people that will both take and save lives.
This is for the newbies, the experts, the advisors, the fighters, the patriots—the ones who keep showing up because they know what’s at stake.
We exist to serve them.
Why Us
To have an undying belief that you can unite a fractured industry of this magnitude, you have to be a little crazy. (ok, maybe more than a little). Yet, it takes a special group of people, experts in their field, intimately aware of the challenges, the bureaucracy, and the down right pain you have to go through to make it in this space.
With VISION, we did what many said wouldn’t be done, ever. Get all the branches of the military working in the same space from the same data. Once we did that, to show off, we even added industry companies in there to boot.
We’ve earned our scars. We’ve experienced the pain of figuring out how to work with the government as a company coming from industry. We’ve closely observed the internal bureaucracy at work. Through enduring that, we’ve built the tools that shine a light on a new way of working in and with the government.
So why us? This isn’t new to us. This is just our next evolution, the next chapter. We’re crazy enough to believe that if we build the right scaffolding, the right people will climb - and when they climb, they’ll take the whole damn industry with them.
